13 Aug – firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire behind the residence in the 800 block of Mimosa, fire was out on arrival.

15 Aug – a regular training session was held at Station 3, Capt Burchett taught ground cover fires and Firefighters Wade and Krotzer led a training session in Hose Handling Skills.

17 Aug – firefighters were dispatched to a grass fire on FM 368 and FM 2345, the fire was located in heavy mesquite and burned about 25 acres in all.

18 Aug – firefighters were dispatched to an alarm activation at the Hampton Inn, alarm was canceled just after alarm, no response.

18 Aug – firefighters were dispatched to an oven fire in the 700 block of N Ave C, fire was out on arrival area checked and range disconnected.

19 Aug – firefighters were dispatched to an alarm activation in the 800 block of Sugarbush, on arrival determined to be accidental due to cleaners creating dust in the home.NOTE: In addition to emergency responders, our department does accept membership into our Fire Corps program.  This program is designed to generate help with only functions essential               to the success of the fire department.  For more information visit www.firecorps.org or contact me at chief@burkfire.org or 940-733-6842.
